I’ve had better vase life on dahlias and lisianthus after switching beds to 1 gph pressure-compensating emitters and running two 6-minute “pulse” cycles at dawn; keeping the emitter 3–4 inches off the crown cut down on botrytis and kept heads firmer. If you try it, @Dia, watch midday heat — on 90°F+ days I add a single 4-minute mid-afternoon pulse, but hydrangea still wants a deeper soak the day before cutting.
